AIK Director clears path for Erick 'Marcelo' Otieno's potential move amid Premier League interest

Reports from 2021 indicated that top English clubs like Leicester, Manchester City, and Brighton were scouting Otieno.
AIK's Director of Football, Thomas Bernsten, has signaled that the club will not impede Erick 'Marcelo' Otieno's departure if a winter bid materialises, as Premier League clubs express interest in the Kenyan left-back.
While Otieno has been linked with moves away in previous years, he chose to stay with AIK. However, Bernsten now acknowledges that Otieno is likely on his way out, and the club will not block his departure this time.

"I'm anticipating that Otieno will play for a different team than AIK next year. I know this might be a tough message for our fans. He has a year left on his contract. Otieno has been close to leaving the club in several transfer windows" Bernsten told AIK Play.
Bernsten disclosed that he assured Otieno during the past summer that the club would not hinder his departure if a suitable offer arose.
Reports from 2021 indicated that top English clubs like Leicester, Manchester City, and Brighton were scouting Otieno.
His agent, Jamal Ibrahim, confirmed strong interest, saying, "There are foreign clubs that follow him. I have received many calls. There is not much I can say about it, but it is true that many are interested and follow him—from top leagues in Europe to more 'ordinary' leagues. We respect everyone who gets in touch."
