DCI probes murder of 59-year-old man killed in Dandora

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating an incident in which a 59-year-old man was killed by two men along the Railway line in Dandora.
Three suspects include Jacob Odhiambo Omollo, Washington Samuel Aboye and Vincent Otieno Oduor.

They are suspects in the murder of Walter Otieno who was killed at around 8 pm on October 24. Otieno's murder was reported to police by a pedestrian who witnessed the incident.
The witness told the police that he was walking along the railway when he met two young men walking in the opposite direction.
The two unknown men attacked the man walking behind him prompting him to flee for his life.
He informed bodaboda riders at a nearby fuel station and they proceeded back to the scene where they found Otieno's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.
Officers from Mowlem police station and DCI Dandora arrived at the scene and identified the deceased as he had his national identity card.
The witness told police officers that one of the men who attacked Otieno was wearing a green reflector jacket during the attack. Police searched the area and arrested Amboye and Omollo.
Amboye was found with a green reflector jacket in his pockets during the arrest, according to an affidavit filed at the Makadara Law Courts by Detective Sergeant Alice Toniok of Dandora DCI offices.
Oduor was arrested at the scene and he told the police that he was at the scene earlier trying to help the deceased but his explanation was not satisfactory, according to Sgt. Toniok.
Toniok said she is investigating a case of murder and she needs to return to the scene to look for the murder weapon.
The detective was making an application for court orders to detain the suspects at the Mowlem Police Station for 21 days to conclude the investigations.
She told Senior Principal Magistrate Agnes Mwangi that she needed time to conduct mobile phone data analysis to ascertain whether the same would place the three men at the scene of the murder.
"I swear this affidavit in support of the application for prayer to have the respondents detained for 21 working days to complete investigations," Toniok.
The detective said the three suspects don't have known homes hence if released they can easily escape and never be found.
The three did not object to the application to detain them. They will remain in custody until November 19.
