Woman detained in Kwale after allegedly beating daughter to death
Police say Eunice Ndunge, a 30-year-old mother, is suspected of assaulting her seven-year-old daughter with a chapati board roller.
Kwale detectives on Friday detained a woman in the Lunga Lunga area carrying a body.
She reportedly went into hiding two days ago after being accused of beating up her daughter.

Police say Eunice Ndunge, a 30-year-old mother, is suspected of assaulting her seven-year-old daughter with a chapati board roller.
According to a police report submitted at the Lunga Lunga Police Station, Village Chairman Kiilu Maundu stated that at Ngathini Village, one of his villagers, Eunice Ndunge, was overheard by a neighbour, Mary Kioko, hitting her daughter on Wednesday, February 14 at around 9 p.m.
Maundu noted that the situation was intervened and the assault stopped.
However, the accused assailant vanished from her rented property the next morning, Thursday.
"This raised eyebrows and when they inquired it emerged that the suspect Eunice went to her rural home at Mrima Village located 30 kilometres away with a dead child preparing funeral arrangements," according to the report of the police.
On Friday, about 4 a.m., police officers arrived at the scene where Eunice claimed to have gone into hiding and detained her.
"At the same time, police recovered a body which was wrapped in pieces of clothes with little blood stains on the mouth," the report further indicated.
The deceased's body was taken to Msambweni Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
