Court gives Kanja last chance to explain whereabouts of four men abducted in Mlolongo
The judge also dismissed the IG's application to have the orders stayed as he prepared to appeal against them.
High Court Judge Chacha Mwita has ordered Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin to appear before him on January 30 to explain the whereabouts of the four men abducted in Mlolongo in December last year.
Mwita ordered the two to appear on the set date to explain "whether they have complied with the orders, and if not, why not?" stated Mwita.

The judge dismissed an application by the two police chiefs seeking to lift the orders issued on January 8 and 13 requiring them to appear in court to explain the whereabouts of the four missing men or produce them in court, dead or alive.
The judge also dismissed the IG's application to have the orders stayed as he prepared to appeal against them.
Kanja submitted the application through lawyer Paul Nyamondi, but the court declined it.
Nyamondi had told the court that Kanja would be out of the country for the whole of next week.
The Law Society of Kenya and the families of the missing men had opposed the application through lawyer Moses Nyawa, who said the judge is being invited to sit on an appeal of his own decision.
Lawyer Nyawa urged the court to consider the plight of the families that are still searching for their own.
