The visit will likely cause delays and slowdowns on the busy highway, a key route connecting Nairobi with Nakuru and the western region of Kenya.
Local authorities have warned that road users may experience temporary roadblocks and congestion due to the royal convoy, particularly around Mai Mahiu and the Naivasha areas.
As part of the royal tour, the King and Queen will also attend the launch of a direct cold-chain corridor between Kenya and Rotterdam, marking a significant step in improving the transport of perishable goods between the two nations.
This is after, they signed an MOU with President William Ruto, at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday.
The corridor is set to run through the Naivasha Inland Container Depot and it is expected to transform logistics, reducing transit times for perishable exports and improving the efficiency of Kenya’s agricultural export sector.
The launch of this project is expected to have a profound impact on Kenya’s agricultural industry, allowing fresh produce to reach international markets faster and in better condition, benefiting both local farmers and the broader economy.
However, travellers using the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway are advised to plan accordingly, as the expected delays may cause travel disruptions during key hours.
Motorists and other road users have been advised to keep an eye out for traffic advisories and updates from authorities, who will manage the movement of traffic around the royal convoy.
Diversions and alternative routes may be in place to facilitate the visit.
