Dry spell with occasional rain expected in some areas this week - Weatherman

Some parts of the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya might experience high temperatures during the day, reaching over 30°C.
The Kenya Meteorological Department in its latest weather forecast has revealed that most areas in the country will likely be dry this week (June 3 to June 9, 2024)
However, they also mentioned that there might be some rain in a few places, like the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.

The department also pointed out that some parts of the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya might experience high temperatures during the day, reaching over 30°C.
At night, temperatures may drop below 10°C in some areas of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and the Central Rift Valley.
Kenyans have been told to be prepared for occasional chilly and cloudy weather in certain parts, including the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the southeastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
According to Kenya Met, strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley (Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and West-Pokot Counties) will have sunny intervals in the morning though a few areas may receive light rains.
Some places might have rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night, which could spread to other areas at times.
In North-western Kenya (Turkana and Samburu Counties), it will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.
However, areas near the border of Uganda and South Sudan might have morning rain and afternoon and night showers.
"The Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County) (Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi Counties) mornings are likely to be cloudy, with light rains over few places, giving way to sunny intervals," the weatherman said in its latest weekly forecast.
According to the Department, residents are expected to shower occasionally in the afternoon and at night in a few places.
North-eastern Kenya (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties) will have sunny intervals during the day while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
In the southeastern lowlands (Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties) mornings are likely to be cloudy, with light rains over few places, giving way to sunny intervals.
The Kenya Met mentioned that some areas will have light rain during the first part of the forecast period. Nights might be partly cloudy.
They also said that it will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night along the Coast (Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties).
However, there might be occasional morning showers in a few places.
