The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of the Nairobi Southern Bypass affecting both bounds between Lang'ata interchange and Ngong interchange. The closure is scheduled from December 27, 2023, to January 23, 2024.
The purpose of the closure is to facilitate construction works for the installation of a Virtual Weighbridge along this section, according to the Authority. To minimize traffic disruption, KeNHA specified that the closure will involve one lane of each carriageway at a time.

During this period, motorists are advised to use one lane each carriageway on both bounds. Additionally, road users are urged to exercise caution when approaching the section and to follow the traffic signs and guidance provided.
