"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that there will be a temporary closure of Uhuru Highway (A8) between Hotel Boulevard and the University of Nairobi roundabout (Mombasa Bound) from 11.59 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, to 11.59 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024," KeNHA said.
We advise motorists intending to access Uhuru Highway from Westlands and Thika Road to use alternative routes during this period. The KeNHA recommends Harry Thuku Road, University Way, Prof. Wangari Mathai Road, and Kipande Road as viable alternatives.
Authorities urge motorists to adhere to traffic signs and guidance provided by the police and traffic marshals on site for smooth traffic flow and safety.
Additionally, KeNHA disclosed that other sections of Uhuru Highway, between the Bunyala roundabout and Haile Selassie Avenue roundabout, as well as between the Harambee Avenue exit and Haile Selassie roundabout, will also experience temporary closures for the installation of service ducts.
