According to the forecast, rainfall is expected in parts of Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Nakuru, Kericho, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Bomet, Nandi, Meru, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, Nyamira, Embu, Murang’a, Nyeri and Nyandarua counties.

Several counties are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours, while other parts of the country are forecast to experience cool and cloudy conditions and strong winds.
In its latest daily weather forecast, the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) said the changing weather conditions will affect different regions up to 9:00 pm on Monday, July 27, 2026.
According to the forecast, rainfall is expected in parts of Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Nakuru, Kericho, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Bomet, Nandi, Meru, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, Nyamira, Embu, Murang’a, Nyeri and Nyandarua counties.
The department also forecast intermittent cool and cloudy conditions in parts of Nairobi, Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang’a, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Kitui, Machakos, Kajiado and Makueni counties.
Strong southerly to southeasterly winds of more than 25 knots (12.5m/s) are expected over parts of Marsabit, Isiolo, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Tana River, Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu and Kitui counties.
At the Coast, the weatherman said Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi are expected to remain partly cloudy tonight before sunny intervals in the morning. Light showers are likely over a few places before cloudy conditions and sunny intervals later in the day. Lamu is also likely to receive light showers over a few places in the morning, while Tana River and Taita Taveta are forecast to experience partly cloudy conditions followed by sunny intervals.
In the northern and north-eastern counties, Garissa, Wajir, Mandera and Marsabit are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions tonight before cloudy weather with sunny intervals in the morning and sunny intervals in the afternoon.
“Isiolo is forecast to remain partly cloudy tonight before sunny intervals during the day,” KMD said.
Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Embu are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions tonight before cloudy weather with a chance of light rain over a few places and sunny intervals in the morning. Sunny intervals are expected in the afternoon. Kitui and Machakos are forecast to remain partly cloudy tonight before cloudy conditions with sunny intervals in the morning and sunny intervals later in the day.
In central Kenya, Makueni, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a and Kiambu are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions tonight before cloudy weather with sunny intervals in the morning. Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a and Kiambu may receive light showers over a few places in the afternoon.
Turkana is expected to remain partly cloudy tonight before sunny intervals during the day.
West Pokot, Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu are forecast to receive moderate showers and thunderstorms over a few places in the afternoon after sunny intervals in the morning. Elgeyo Marakwet and Nandi are expected to receive light showers over a few places later in the day.
Baringo is forecast to experience sunny intervals before light showers in the afternoon, while Laikipia may receive light showers over a few places later in the day. Nakuru is expected to experience light showers and thunderstorms over a few places tonight before sunny intervals in the morning and light showers in the afternoon. Narok may receive light showers over a few places later in the day, while Kajiado is expected to remain partly cloudy before sunny intervals.
Kericho is forecast to receive moderate showers and thunderstorms over a few places in the afternoon after a chance of light showers tonight and sunny intervals in the morning. Bomet is expected to receive light showers over a few places in the afternoon.
Kakamega, Vihiga and Bungoma are expected to experience possible light rain in the morning before a chance of light showers in the afternoon. Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori and Kisii are expected to remain mainly dry with sunny intervals, although Homa Bay may receive light showers over a few places in the afternoon, while Nyamira is likely to receive light showers later in the day.
Nairobi is expected to remain partly cloudy tonight before cloudy conditions and sunny intervals in the morning, with a chance of light showers over a few places in the afternoon.
The forecast also indicates that maximum temperatures will range from 23 degrees Celsius in Nyandarua to 36 degrees Celsius in Mandera and Turkana, while minimum temperatures will range from six degrees Celsius in Nyandarua to 26 degrees Celsius in Turkana.
