Former DP Gachagua blames police for facilitating his Limuru attack
He described the attack as a premeditated attempt on his life and accused the Limuru Member of Parliament of being involved in organising the incident.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the police of deliberately allowing goons to attack him and his allies during a funeral in Limuru two days ago.
Speaking during a live television interview on Sunday night, Gachagua recounted the events that led to chaos at the function he attended. He alleged that plans to have him attacked were orchestrated a day before the event.

"The county security team convened a meeting at Tigoni Police Station a day prior to the event, where it was decided to allow armed youths to attack us," claimed Gachagua.
According to him, the disruption of the event could not have occurred without police knowledge. He insisted that the attackers were backed by security officers who intentionally stayed away, enabling the chaos.
"My supporters formed a human shield around me to protect me, and residents also joined in to shield me from stones being hurled at me. The attackers were shouting that I should be stoned and killed," Gachagua said.
He described the attack as a premeditated attempt on his life and accused the Limuru Member of Parliament of being involved in organising the incident.
"Those who attacked me were later seen escorting the area's Member of Parliament. It is evident that the MP and the attackers were working together," alleged Gachagua.
Gachagua further criticised the government, claiming all state security personnel assigned to him had been withdrawn following his impeachment a month ago.
The National Police Service denied reports of the arrest of former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi in connection with the incident. Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, on Friday, 29 November, clarified that Mwathi had not been arrested and was not a person of interest in the ongoing investigation.
Kanja stated that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Limuru had launched inquiries to uncover the cause of the fracas and apprehend the culprits.
He urged members of the public with any information regarding the burial disruption to report to the nearest police station.
The clarification came after a faction of Gachagua's allies visited the DCI headquarters in Kiambu County, demanding Mwathi's release.
Addressing the media outside the DCI offices on Thursday, November 28, Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang'wa claimed that Mwathi had been abducted by unidentified individuals in a black Subaru.
"We are here at the DCI to demand a thorough investigation into the events today, where an attempt on Rigathi Gachagua's life was made by government-hired goons," the Senator stated.
