Djibouti, Sudan and Kenya placed in Group A for CECAFA U-20 AFCON Qualifiers

Djibouti and Sudan have been drawn into Group A for the 2024 CECAFA U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. With the tournament set to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, both teams will face strong competition as they aim to secure a spot in the U-20 AFCON.
Djibouti and Sudan will battle it out in Group A for the upcoming CECAFA U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, scheduled for October 6-20, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Joining them in the group are hosts Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda, setting up a challenging path for both nations.
The draw, conducted on September 12th, divided the nine participating teams into two groups, with Group A hosting five teams and Group B comprising Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, and Ethiopia. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the ultimate goal of securing one of two available spots at next year’s U-20 AFCON.

Both Djibouti and Sudan will look to build on their recent performances, as the competition intensifies in the race for qualification. The tournament matches will be played at the Azam Complex and KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
