Kenya's hopes of a strong showing at the HSBC Sevens Grand Final took a hit as they lost to Spain 5-10 in their second Pool B match in Madrid, Spain on Friday evening.
Despite a converted try by Vincent Onyala, Shujaa was unable to overcome the Spanish side.

Earlier in the tournament, Shujaa had started on a high note by defeating Samoa 19-12 in their first Pool B match. Patrick Odongo was instrumental in that victory, scoring two crucial tries that secured the win for Kenya.
Kenya will face Chile on Saturday evening in their final pool match. The game is scheduled for 8:18 pm, and Shujaa will be aiming to secure a top-four position in the playoffs to continue their quest for HSBC 7s glory.
