TikTok users can now save songs directly to SoundCloud

The integration, announced this week, is part of a growing effort by both platforms to bridge short-form content with streaming ecosystems, giving emerging artists and DJs wider reach while providing users with more control over their music experience.
In a move set to strengthen music discovery and sharing, TikTok has introduced a new feature allowing users to save songs directly to SoundCloud from within the app.
This development will make it easier for listeners to take viral tracks beyond the scroll or the favourite sound feature already available in the application.

The integration, announced this week, is part of a growing effort by both platforms to bridge short-form content with streaming ecosystems, giving emerging artists and DJs wider reach while providing users with more control over their music experience.
How it works
When a user taps on a sound used in a TikTok video, they will now see an option to “Save to SoundCloud”.
With a single tap, the track is added to the user’s liked tracks or a custom playlist within their SoundCloud account.
The feature is currently rolling out in select regions globally and is expected to reach all users worldwide in the coming weeks.
TikTok has long been a music trendsetter, helping launch songs and sounds into viral fame.
In fact, some artists are favouring TikTok over platforms like YouTube to promote their music, pushing their tracks to audiences globally.
Now, this direct connection to SoundCloud could boost discoverability for independent artists and create smoother listening experiences for fans beyond TikTok’s 60-second limits.
“This is a win for artists and fans alike,” said a spokesperson from SoundCloud.
“It gives viral moments a longer life and builds real-world music communities from digital trends.”
The partnership may also signal a larger trend in tech, highlighting how tighter integration between social platforms and streaming services is effective, as users demand faster, seamless transitions from content to consumption.
