Football Kenya Federation launches inaugural Manyatta Festival in Samburu
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Samburu Branch is set to host the inaugural Manyatta Festival Football Tournament on August 8th and 9th, 2024, at various venues in Samburu County, including Kenyatta Stadium in Maralal. The event, featuring 20 teams from the region, aims to promote local vibrancy and sportsmanship under the theme "Buy Samburu Build Samburu."
In a quest to bring local vibrancy and encourage sportsmanship, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Samburu Branch, is set to host the first edition of the Manyatta Festival Football Tournament on August 8th and 9th, 2024, at Kenyatta Stadium in Maralal, Samburu county.
Kenyatta Stadium, Maralal DEB Grounds, Allamano Hall, and Mwangaza Secondary School Grounds will serve as the venues for the tournament. A total of 20 registered teams from two of the three constituencies that make up Samburu County are set to battle each other across these various locations.
A schedule table, signed by the FKF branch manager in Samburu, James Lolochum, reveals that there will be four pools, each containing five teams. Pool A has Ngutuk FC, Sagumai FC, Yare FC, Mara Warriors and Lchekuti FC.

Pool B has Lolokwe FC, Talanta FC, Loosuk FC, Nkorien FC and Baawa FC. Pool C has Exotica FC, Samburu county assembly FC, Millinami FC, Kiromon National Youth FC and Kisima united FC. The last pool, Pool D will entail, Pirates FC, Taqwa FC, Sevilla FC, Super Eagles FC and Maralal Allstars FC.
The festival's event will kick off on Thursday 8th with Nguruk squaring it off with Sagumai at 8:00AM at Kenyatta Stadium. Exotica will play Samburu county assembly at Allamano Hall at 10:00 am. Lolokwe will lock horns with Talanta at Maralal DEB Grounds, while Taqwa will host Pirates at Mwangaza Secondary School Grounds.
The theme for the festival will be “Buy Samburu Build Samburu.”
