Nation Media Group Uganda says it will continue publishing through its digital platforms after an overnight military raid disrupted its television, radio and newspaper operations, while regulators investigate the incident.

Nation Media Group Uganda (NMG-U) has said it will continue publishing through its digital platforms after disruptions to its television, radio and newspaper operations forced several of its broadcast outlets off air.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the media house said its premises in Namuwongo and at the Kampala Serena International Conference Centre remain inaccessible following what it described as an overnight military raid.
According to the company, the operation took place at about 1 a.m. and resulted in a power outage that disrupted normal operations across its media platforms.
"The raid, carried out at about 1:00 am on Sunday, June 28, resulted in electricity disconnection and disruption of normal operations across our platforms on radio, TV and newspapers," said the media company.
Despite the disruption, Nation Media Group Uganda said it remains committed to keeping readers, viewers and listeners informed through its digital platforms as it monitors the unfolding situation.
"While our offices are closed, we will continue to keep you engaged and informed through our digital platforms," it said.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) said it has begun consultations with relevant government stakeholders to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The regulator confirmed that NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Dembe FM and KFM had gone off air and urged the public to remain calm as consultations continue.
"The Uganda Communications Commission has noted the circumstances that have led to the Nation Media Group's outlets, including NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Dembe FM, and KFM, going off air," UCC said in its statement.
"Consultations have begun with the relevant government stakeholders to obtain verified information," it added.
The Commission said it would provide further updates through its official channels once the consultations are complete.
The latest developments came after Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, announced that he had ordered the shutdown of the Daily Monitor and NTV Uganda, saying the outlets would not resume operations without his permission.
