Mombasa county advertises 206 inspectorate positions
Applicants were cautioned about engaging in fraudulent activities, including canvassing and graft.
Mombasa County has announced 206 vacancies for the position of inspectorate officers after the contracts of those who were in office expired last year.
The 105 county inspectorate officers whose contracts ended were sent home in December 2023 after serving the county for 11 years.

The Public Service Board stated in an advertisement in local newspapers that eligible candidates must submit their applications by May 24, 2024.
"All applicants are advised to apply online by filling out an online application form. Applicants must attach copies of their CV, academic certificates, registration certificates, valid practising licences, and confirmation of Kenyan citizenship," reads part of the advertisement.
Earlier, members of the county assembly, led by the chair of the Labour Committee, Jacktone Madialo, raised concerns about the county's decision to conduct performance evaluations for 105 officers and not renew their contracts, instead requesting them to reapply for the positions.
The MCAs alleged that some officers, who have been with the county government since 2013 until 2024, totalling 11 years, were left in jeopardy after their contracts expired.
“These individuals underwent training and received considerable resources to develop their skills and gain experience. These long-serving individuals shouldn't be treated as strangers,” Madialo cautioned.
He further questioned the fairness of expecting the aged employees to compete with 18-year-olds in physical tasks, considering their accumulated experience and potentially changed physical conditions.
In total, the county has announced 259 job opportunities across 7 various departments. The transportation department is looking to hire 14 drivers and 14 riders. Additionally, they need 16 clerical officers, 1 record management officer, 2 human resource management assistants, and 6 senior support staff.
