With a diverse range of musical genres spanning Afrobeat, dancehall, hip-hop, Afro-pop, and many others, the event paid homage to the rich and dynamic tapestry of Afro-centric music. Featuring a star-studded lineup of over 50 global artists, the ceremony celebrated the exceptional talent and fusion within the African music scene.

The event not only commemorated Trace's significant 20th anniversary but also underscored Nigeria's prominent position in the African music landscape, with the notable presence of artists such as Davido and Rema. Gathering musicians from various corners of the globe, including Kenya, the UK, France, Brazil, and more, the ceremony encapsulated a true Pan African spirit, fostering an amalgamation of diverse music styles and cultural influences.

The occasion recognized outstanding artists with prestigious awards, honoring the likes of Diamond Platnumz, Bruce Melodie, and 2Face, while also acknowledging the influential contributions of African and Afro-inspired musicians within the urban cultural realm.

Janet Karemera, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Convention Bureau, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the inaugural Trace Awards in Rwanda, envisioning it as a significant step in promoting the country as a prime destination for cultural tourism experiences and world-class events.

The Trace Awards not only marked a milestone for the Trace brand but also played a pivotal role in the advancement of Africa's flourishing music industry. Serving as a platform for cultural interaction, learning, and celebration, the event transcended language barriers, uniting people from diverse backgrounds to revel in the rich heritage of African and Afro-inspired music and culture.

Olivier Laouchez, the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Trace, reiterated the brand's commitment to highlighting the diversity and power of Afro-urban culture, emphasizing the significance of the Trace Awards in honoring the vision and impact of musical pioneers within the urban cultural landscape.
