Homeboyz back on track
Kakamega Homeboyz were eager to bounce back after a controversial late offside call denied them an equaliser against Gor Mahia in their previous match. This time, they wasted no time asserting dominance.
Moses Shumah put them ahead in the 7th minute from the penalty spot before Estone Esiye doubled the lead, sealing a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Mara Sugar.
Talanta and Mathare share the spoils
At Kenyatta Stadium, FC Talanta and Mathare United played out a 1-1 draw, with both sides desperate to stay afloat in the league.
A quiet first half saw few chances, but the second period came to life when Mathare United conceded an own goal in the 57th minute, handing Talanta the lead. Mathare responded quickly, with Stephen Okola equalising in the 62nd minute. Despite late attempts from both teams, the points were shared.
Gor Mahia snatch last-minute winner
Gor Mahia, chasing another league title, faced a resilient Posta Rangers side in the day's final match.
After a goalless first half, K’Ogalo broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute. However, Posta Rangers hit back 12 minutes later to level the score at 1-1.
With time running out, the match seemed destined for a draw, but Gor Mahia had the final say. Deep into stoppage time - nine minutes into added time - they found a dramatic late winner to clinch a 2-1 victory, reinforcing their dominance at the top.
