Posta Rangers sink Tusker as Gor Mahia secure first win

The weekend’s results leave Posta Rangers setting the early pace, Tusker still searching for form, Mathare finding some stability, and Gor Mahia showing their intent as the season picks up speed.
The SportPesa League produced contrasting fortunes on Saturday, with Posta Rangers maintaining their perfect start, Mathare United collecting their first point, and Gor Mahia securing a morale-boosting victory.
At Dandora Stadium, Tusker FC’s poor start to the season continued with a 2-1 loss to Posta Rangers. Eliud Lokuwam scored twice for Rangers; first in the 2nd minute and again in the 23rd after good work from Caleb Olilo.

Eric Kapaito pulled one back for Tusker in the 35th minute, but coach Charles Okere’s team couldn’t find an equaliser, even with a stronger second-half performance. Tusker are still winless after two matches, while Rangers sit top of the table with two wins in two games.
In Awendo, Mathare United and Kakamega Homeboyz played to a 0-0 draw. There were a few clear chances, but Mathare picked up their first point of the season, while Homeboyz began their campaign with an away draw.
Later, back at Dandora, Gor Mahia secured their first win of the season by beating Sofapaka 2-0. Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Adukwa impressed on his league debut, scoring in the 17th minute and adding a stunning long-range goal in the second half.
Despite missing a penalty through Austin, Gor Mahia dominated and took all three points, easing pressure after their opening-day defeat.
