League champions Gor Mahia feature prominently across the shortlist, alongside strong representation from AFC Leopards, Mara Sugar, Murang’a Seal, Ulinzi Stars, Shabana, Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United, APS Bomet and other clubs.

The Football Kenya Federation on Tuesday unveiled the nominees for the 2025/26 FKF Premier League Awards, with the gala ceremony set for June 4 at the Glee Hotel along the Northern Bypass.
The awards, which will honour standout performances from the just-concluded FKF season, include categories such as Player of the Season, Coach of the Season, Young Player of the Season, Best Midfielder, Best Defender, Golden Boot, Golden Glove, Most Disciplined Player, Most Disciplined Team and Team of the Season.
“The gala is expected to bring together players, coaches, club officials, sponsors, and football stakeholders to celebrate the standout performers from the 2025/26 season,” said FKF in a statement.
League champions Gor Mahia feature prominently across the shortlist, alongside strong representation from AFC Leopards, Mara Sugar, Murang’a Seal, Ulinzi Stars, Shabana, Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United, APS Bomet and other clubs.
The Player of the Season shortlist brings together some of the league’s standout performers, with Gor Mahia duo Enock Morrison and Musa Shariff leading the champions’ representation. They are joined by AFC Leopards defender Kayci Odhiambo, Mara Sugar’s Jimmy Owili, and Murang’a Seal striker Joseph Waithira.
On the other hand, the Coach of the Season shortlist features Gor Mahia’s title-winning coach Charles Akonnor, AFC Leopards’ Fred Ambani and APS Bomet’s Sammy Omollo.
Emerging talent will also be in focus at the awards ceremony, with the Young Player of the Season category featuring Kariobangi Sharks winger Humphrey Aroko, Nairobi United midfielder Kevin Wangaya, Mara Sugar defender Robinson Musungu, Kakamega Homeboyz attacker Oliver Machaka and AFC Leopards youngster Kelly Madada.
Enock Morrison, Tyson Otieno, Estone Esiye, Biron Otieno, and Geoffrey Ojunga headline the Best Midfielder category while the Best Defender shortlist features Jimmy Owili, Abud Omar, Wycliffe Omondi, Kayci Odhiambo, Robinson Musungu and Paul Ochuoga.
In the race for the Golden Boot, Murang’a Seal’s Joseph Waithira will go up against Ulinzi Stars’ Paul Okoth in the race for the Golden Boot, while Shabana goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng Otieno is the sole nominee for the Golden Glove after an impressive season in goal.
Drona Openda, Ian Omondi and Timothy Ekhavi have been shortlisted for Most Disciplined Player, while Mara Sugar, Kariobangi Sharks and Mathare United will be contesting the team award.
"The Team of the Season also features standout performers from across the league, including players from Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Mara Sugar, Shabana, Kenya Police, Kariobangi Sharks, Ulinzi Stars, and Murang’a Seal," said FKF.
