The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has launched an enhanced continuous voter registration in five electoral areas across the country, giving eligible Kenyans an opportunity to register as voters and update their registration details.
The month-long exercise began on June 25 and will run until July 25, 2026. It targets Mbeere North, Malava and Emurua Dikirr constituencies, as well as Porro Ward in Samburu West Constituency and Endo Ward in Marakwet East Constituency.
In a gazette notice published on June 24, the commission said the exercise follows the conclusion of by-elections and the determination of election petitions in Malava and Mbeere North constituencies.
The registration drive will be conducted daily, from Monday to Sunday, throughout the exercise. Eligible Kenyan citizens aged 18 years and above who possess a valid national identity card or Kenyan passport will be able to register as voters, transfer their registration to another electoral area, update or correct their registration details, and verify their voter registration status.
According to the commission, registration services will be available at County Assembly Ward-level centres, constituency offices, Huduma Centres, institutions of higher learning within the affected electoral areas, and the IEBC Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi.
Voters wishing to transfer their registration will be required to present themselves at the IEBC constituency office in their preferred electoral area. Those seeking to update or correct their details must visit the constituency office where they are currently registered.
“IEBC gives notice that there will be enhanced continuous voter registration (ECVR) of voters from Thursday, 25th June, 2026 to Saturday, 25th July, 2026,” the commission said in the notice.
Upon completion of the exercise, Continuous Voter Registration and the regular revision of the Register of Voters will continue at constituency offices nationwide from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pm, excluding public holidays.
However, the commission noted that Continuous Voter Registration and revision of the register will not be conducted in Ol Kalou Constituency during the ongoing by-election period.
