The highest number of violations occurred in May, accounting for 15 cases or 20.8 per cent of the total, followed by April and September. These peaks suggest that journalists faced heightened risks during periods likely marked by increased political activity, public scrutiny, or sensitive reporting.
After the May peak, violations dropped sharply in June and July before rising again in September and November. This fluctuation highlights a recurring pattern where media attacks intensify during specific periods rather than remaining constant, reinforcing concerns about the safety and independence of journalists in Somalia.
