The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the full resumption of air traffic in May, lifting the remaining restrictions on the country’s airspace.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a 30-day visa grace period for Kenyans affected by recent regional flight disruptions, allowing them to regularise their residence status or depart without incurring overstay penalties.
The Kenyan Embassy in the UAE has consequently called on all eligible Kenyans to take advantage of this opportunity to regularise their immigration status and remain lawfully in the country, or to make the necessary arrangements to depart before the deadline without attracting overstay fines.
“Affected Kenyans are advised to check their visa status immediately and complete any required visa renewal, status change or departure procedures as soon as possible and no later than 9th July 2026,” the Embassy stated in a post on X.

Regional carriers have largely restored operations, while airlines such as Emirates, currently flying to more than 137 destinations worldwide, Etihad serving more than 80, and Qatar Airways flying to more than 160 destinations, have resumed extensive schedules.

Latest Stories

Local media reports that many flight routes are still being diverted or placed on hold, and passengers can expect disruption to continue over the coming weeks and months.
As such, travellers are advised to confirm their flight before heading to the airport and to arrive three hours before departure.
