Kenyan automotive content creator George King'ara will represent the country at the Shell V-Power Games in Budapest, Hungary, joining more than 60 digital creators from around the world for a motorsport-themed competition held alongside this weekend's Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix.
King'ara, who has built a reputation through automotive reviews, driving experiences and industry-focused content, will compete in a series of physical, mental, team and driving challenges designed to test participants' skills while celebrating motorsport and automotive performance.
The event will also feature creators from several countries, including South Africa's Nomzamo Mbatha and Moroccan television presenter Hicham Masrar. Participants will take part in activities linked to Shell V-Power's long-standing partnership with Scuderia Ferrari.
Speaking ahead of his departure, King'ara described the opportunity as a significant milestone for his career and Kenya's growing automotive content community.
"I am incredibly honoured to represent Kenya at the Shell V-Power Games in Budapest. What started as a passion for creating automotive content has opened doors to an amazing global opportunity. This is a proud moment for me as I partner with a strong brand such as Shell V-Power to tell its story. I'm excited to fly the Kenyan flag high, connect with creators from around the world and watch my heroes battle it out for position one at the F1 Hungary GP.”
The competition is expected to showcase the connection between digital creators and motorsport while highlighting innovation in automotive performance through Shell's collaboration with Ferrari, one of Formula One's most successful teams.
Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi said King'ara's selection reflects the growing global recognition of Kenya's digital automotive community.
“We are delighted to have George King’ara represent Kenya at the Shell V-Power Games. Seeing a Kenyan creator stand alongside over 60 other international creators reflects the growing influence of our creative industry and Vivo Energy’s commitment to providing opportunities that inspire. Through Shell V-Power's partnership with Scuderia Ferrari, this initiative allows us to bring Shell’s performance story to life in a way that resonates with our customers and inspires the next generation."
King'ara has amassed a growing following through content focused on vehicle reviews, road tests and the Kenyan motoring industry. His participation in Budapest places Kenya among the countries represented at the international event, which is taking place during one of Formula One's busiest race weekends.
