Gor Mahia's journey in the current season has been outstanding, accumulating an impressive 34 points in 16 matches, with nine wins and seven draws. Their robust defense has only conceded seven goals, showcasing their unwavering consistency.

Gor Mahia's head coach, Johnathan McKinstry, remains level-headed despite his team's remarkable performance in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) this season.

The perennial Kenyan champions have maintained an impressive 16-game undefeated run, showcasing their dominance in the league.

In a recent hard-fought match against Bandari FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on December 22, 2023, K’Ogalo secured a narrow 1-0 victory, bringing joy to fans and players while adding to the weight of expectations.

McKinstry acknowledged the pressure that comes with the unbeaten streak.

"This group hasn't tasted defeat since June, bringing its own pressures. Every team facing K'Ogalo wants to make a statement, grab a win, and be in the headlines," he is quoted on Pulse Sports.

K’Ogalo’s consistent success has made them a focal point in each game, resulting in an increased target on their backs. McKinstry remains pragmatic about the situation, recognizing the inevitable desire of opposing teams to be the ones to end their unbeaten run.

"The pressure mounts when you're on an unbeaten streak because every team aims to be the one to end it. We acknowledge that someday it will end, but for us, it's about staying focused and not getting carried away," stressed Mckinstry.

Gor Mahia's journey in the current season has been outstanding, accumulating an impressive 34 points in 16 matches, with nine wins and seven draws. Their robust defence has only conceded seven goals, showcasing their unwavering consistency.

Addressing challenges such as a transfer ban and other off-field issues, McKinstry highlighted the multi-faceted projects undertaken to bring Gor Mahia back to championship status, reinforcing his commitment to the club's long-term success.

"We are ahead of schedule, when I came here it was not about winning the league this season. We said we wanted to win the league in January but understood where we were off the field. The transfer ban, transfer issues and many things off the field were to be solved. I came in, and it was many projects to get us back to being champions," the 38-year-old said.
