Kakamega Homeboyz crowned 2023 Elijah Lidonde Super Cup Champions

In a thrilling culmination to the second edition of the Elijah Lidonde Super Cup, Kakamega Homeboyz emerged victorious by dethroning AFC Leopards with a 1-0 win in an explosive final played at the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Ugandan striker Davis Kasire, coming off the bench, secured the priceless goal in the 79th minute, propelling Abana ba Ingo to their second title in the club's history.

AFC Leopards finished the match with 10 men after Aziz Okaka received a red card for a second bookable offense.
Homeboyz claimed the coveted trophy and pocketed Sh1 million in prize money, while AFC received Sh500,000.

Mulembe United secured the bronze medal in the third-place playoffs after thumping Nzoia Sugar 2-1. The National Super League (NSL) side walked away with Sh250,000, while Godfrey Oduor's charges received Sh200,000 for their efforts.

In a curtain-raiser match, the Legends team, led by former Kenyan internationals such as Patrick Mugata, Sylvanus Otema, Anthony Okumu, Fred Serenge, Nicholas Muyoti, Dennis Mukaisi, and tournament patron Alex Muteshi, triumphed 3-0 against 22bet.
