Nairobi Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud says no formal notice has been filed for June 25 demonstrations, stressing that any protests must comply with the Public Order Act.

Nairobi Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud has said police have not received any formal notification of planned protests or public gatherings to mark the June 25 commemoration and therefore do not expect any demonstrations in the capital.
He added that while the Constitution guarantees the right to peaceful assembly, any protests must comply with the Public Order Act to help maintain public order and safeguard the rights of others.
