Lumumba became a continental sensation during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where his unique style of support captured the attention of football fans across Africa.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has rewarded one of its most devoted football supporters, Michel Kuka Mboladinga, famously known as 'Lumumba', by officially including him in the country’s delegation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to reports, the decision came after members of the national team personally requested that the iconic supporter travel with the squad, a proposal that later received approval from President Félix Tshisekedi.
As part of the arrangement, all of Lumumba’s travel costs, including flights, accommodation, visa processing and match tickets, will be fully catered for during the tournament.
