According to the firm, the Twin Otter Classic 300-G offers greater operational efficiency and mission flexibility while retaining the rugged capabilities that allow operators to reach destinations inaccessible to other aircraft.
It combines the legendary aircraft’s proven short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, which offers a greater payload capability, with a modern Garmin G1000 integrated flight deck, new Lightweight Cabin Seats, enhanced electrical systems, and upgraded cockpit ergonomics.
“The delivery of our first Twin Otter Classic 300-G is an important milestone in our regional growth strategy. This aircraft will enable us to better serve remote areas while supporting tourism, economic development, and essential air services throughout the region,” said Mesfin Tasew, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines.
De Havilland operates as a subsidiary of Longview Aviation Capital and focuses on niche markets, producing the Dash 8-400 regional turboprop, the Twin Otter, and the upcoming Canadair 515 aerial firefighter.
The firm has delivered more than 5,000 aircraft worldwide.
