AFC Leopards held again as Posta Rangers, Sofapaka shine in midweek FKFPL action

At Gusii Stadium, Posta Rangers continued their fine run by edging hosts Shabana FC 2–1 in a top-of-the-table battle.

AFC Leopards’ wait for a first win of the new FKFPL season continued after being held to a goalless draw by Bandari FC in a tense midweek clash at Kasarani Stadium.

It was a game of missed chances and defensive solidity as both teams fought hard but failed to find the breakthrough. AFC, playing at home, introduced Tyson Otieno, Elias Mugane, Wanyama, and goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi to the starting lineup for the first time this season.

Early on, Kelly Madada looked lively, firing wide in the 11th minute before Elias Muriuki’s effort was blocked by Bandari’s defenders. On the other end, Geoffrey Ojunga set up David Sakwa, but AFC goalkeeper Katasi produced a vital save to deny the Dockers.

Bandari threatened again in the 23rd minute through William Wadri and Hamza Ngamachia, only for AFC’s defence to clear. The hosts nearly took the lead just before halftime when Vincent Mahiga’s clever delivery found Muriuki Elias, whose header narrowly missed the target.

After a goalless first half, both sides resumed with intent. Bandari goalkeeper Alian Ngeleka pulled off a string of saves, showcasing individual brilliance that frustrated Leopards’ attack. Coach Thomas Trucha made changes, bringing in Boniface Munyendo, Hassan Beja, and Victor Otieno to spark some life up front, but Bandari’s backline held firm.

Bandari, under new Moroccan coach Mohamed Borji, introduced Swaleh Pamba for William Wadri as they looked to snatch a winner. Despite Ngamachia Amza’s constant pressure and Madada’s multiple attempts, neither side could find the net.

The match ended 0-0, marking AFC’s third consecutive draw of the season, three matches. For Bandari, it was a positive start under their new coach.

At Gusii Stadium, Posta Rangers continued their fine run by edging hosts Shabana FC 2–1 in a top-of-the-table battle. Both teams went into the match unbeaten, but Posta’s clinical finishing proved the difference.

Goals from Brian Marita and Trevor secured the win for the Mailmen, while Shabana managed a consolation through Bronson Nsuguba late in the game.

The victory saw Posta Rangers climb to the top of the standings with 10 points from four matches, while Shabana suffered their first defeat of the campaign.

At Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz bounced back strongly from their previous setback, defeating Bidco United 3–1 in an entertaining encounter.

Homeboyz dominated from start to finish, with goals from Henry Omollo, Kevin Ouma (own goal), and Oliver Majaka sealing the win. Bidco’s lone goal offered little consolation as the hosts’ attack proved too sharp.

In Murang’a, Sofapaka continued their steady rise with a 2–1 victory over Murang’a Seal at the SportPesa Arena.

Adrian Oloo and Bramuel Simiyu scored for Batoto ba Mungu, while Siololo pulled one back for Seal late in the match.
