The impact of the crash was severe, with the lorry ploughing into eight sand and soil lorries parked near the petrol station.

Two people died, and several others were seriously injured after a lorry reportedly lost control and slammed into parked lorries along the Kisii-Keroka Highway near Kisii National Polytechnic on Sunday morning.
According to police, the accident happened at around 4:30 am after the lorry veered off the road and crashed into several trucks that had been parked at Tosha Petrol Station along the busy highway in Kisii Central Sub-county.
The impact of the crash was severe, with the lorry ploughing into eight sand and soil lorries parked near the petrol station. The collision left the lorry driver and a boda boda rider dead at the scene, while several other people suffered serious injuries.
Emergency responders and police officers rushed to the scene and attended to the injured as efforts to clear the wreckage from the road began to restore the flow of traffic.
Investigators have launched inquiries to establish what caused the crash, including reports that the lorry may have lost control before hitting the parked vehicles.
Authorities have appealed to motorists to exercise caution, especially when travelling during the early morning hours, as investigations into the accident continue.
