Government pathologist detailed that some tissues were missing from Ayieko's mouth, ear, and cheek, attributing these injuries to animal activity.
Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Onyango Ayieko died from head injuries that caused brain bleeding, a postmortem conducted by government Pathologist Johansen Oduor has revealed.
Dr Oduor said there were additional bruises on Ayieko's wrists, which he attributed to handcuffs discovered on his body.

He further detailed that some tissues were missing from Ayieko's mouth, ear, and cheek, attributing these injuries to animal activity at the location where the body was recovered.
“There was bleeding to the brain. Other than that there were bruises on the wrists caused by some cuffs found on him. There were also missing tissues on the mouth, ear and cheek,” he said.
He explained the missing tissues were as a result of animal predation at the site where the body was found.
Oduor explained that the missing tissue on Ayieko's body was likely due to animal predation from aquatic creatures such as fish and crabs, as evidence indicated; a dead crab was found on Ayieko's clothing, suggesting the animals may have been attracted to softer areas of the body.
Present at the autopsy was family pathologist Prof. Emily Rogena, who agreed with the findings.
The procedure took place at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi, attended by Ayieko's family, Siaya Governor James Orengo, MPs Sam Atandi and Elisha Odhiambo, and Martin Nyuguto and head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation’s (DCI) homicide unit.
Findings from the autopsy will also contribute to the ongoing investigation led by detectives.
A suspect linked to Ayieko's murder was arrested in Nairobi on Monday night after a coordinated investigation by multi-agency teams.
The suspect, who allegedly rented a residence in Dandora Phase IV using proceeds from the crime, was linked to the scene through forensic evidence. The investigation, carried out by teams from DCI’s Homicide, Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), and Operations units, remains active, with detectives following leads on additional suspects.
Two M-Pesa agents from Siaya have also been questioned after it was discovered that Sh100,000 was withdrawn from Ayieko's mobile account across multiple locations in Siaya on October 19 and 20.
Nairobi-based detectives joined the efforts on the ground last Thursday, reporting significant progress in their search for Ayieko’s killers.
