Safaricom to close select shops nationwide for staff event

The telco has not shared details about the internal event but assured the public that services will resume as usual once it concludes.
Safaricom will temporarily halt operations in several of its retail outlets across the country to hold a company-wide staff event.
The closures will take place on Thursday, October 9, affecting shops in Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi, Diani, Machakos, Kitui, Thika, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Embu, Maua, Meru, and Garissa.

Ahead of the event, some outlets in the Mount Kenya, Coast, Eastern, and North Eastern regions will close early on Wednesday, October 8, starting at 11:30 am, to allow staff to prepare.
To reduce inconvenience to customers, Safaricom has urged them to make use of alternative service channels.
These include the Zuri Chatbot available on digital platforms, the Safaricom Contact Centre, and nearby authorised dealer outlets.
