EACC summons 35 Narok MCAs over May 19 ouster‑motion brawl

The MCAs are scheduled to appear at the EACC headquarters on June 8, at designated times between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched investigations into allegations of unethical conduct involving Narok Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), who allegedly fought on the floor of the House on May 19, 2026.
MCAs from rival factions exchanged blows during a heated sitting on an ouster motion against Finance County Executive Committee Member (CECM) David Ole Muntet, accused of mismanaging public funds, displaying arrogance, and halting key development projects without explanation.
Tensions flared shortly after the session began when divisions emerged over the impeachment motion. Some members who had initially backed the move were accused of abruptly shifting their stance, sparking anger among colleagues pushing for Muntet’s removal.
A letter seen by The Eastleigh Voice shows that Speaker Davis Solian Dikirr and Clerk Joseph Kasaine Lengeny are also scheduled to appear before the Commission today to record statements at the agency’s Nairobi headquarters.
“The Commission is investigating allegations of unethical conduct against Members of the County Assembly of Narok following an affray on the floor of the house that was reported on May 19, 2026. To facilitate our investigation, we invite you to record a statement regarding the matter. You are required to appear at the EACC offices at the Integrity Centre, Nairobi, on June 4, 2026, at 11.00 am for an interview and statement recording,” the letters sent by Deputy Director, Ethics Development and Monitoring, David Kaboro, read in part.
