Defending champions KCB will face Kenya Pipeline in Sunday's Kenya Cup women's volleyball final after both teams secured semi-final victories at the Kasarani Indoor Arena on Saturday.

KCB had to dig deep to secure their place in the final after Kenya Prisons forced the match all the way to a fifth set. The defending champions took the opening set 25-23 before Prisons drew level at 25-22.

The bankers regained the lead with a 25-19 win in the third set, but Prisons refused to let the match slip away, taking the fourth set 25-22 to set up a tense finish.

With a place in the final at stake and little separating the two sides, KCB held their nerve in the closing stages to claim the decider 15-12 and remain on course to defend their Kenya Cup title.

Joining KCB in the final are Kenya Pipeline, who comfortably beat the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in straight sets to book the remaining place in Sunday's title clash.

While the 3-0 scoreline suggests a routine victory, Pipeline had to overcome a stubborn DCI side that stretched the opening set beyond the regulation 25 points before narrowly losing 29-27.

Having survived that early scare, Pipeline settled into the match and looked far more comfortable, taking the next two sets 25-16 and 25-18 to complete the win and set up Sunday's title showdown with the defending champions.

Attention now turns to Sunday's Kenya Cup final, where KCB and Kenya Pipeline will face off at the Kasarani Indoor Arena from 2:00 pm. Earlier in the day, Kenya Prisons and DCI will meet in the third-place playoff, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am at the same venue.
