ODM has called aspirants from four Nyanza counties to a consultative meeting in Kisumu as it intensifies preparations and rolls out its 2027 election nomination roadmap.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has invited aspirants from Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori counties seeking various elective seats on the party ticket to a consultative meeting as it steps up preparations for the 2027 General Elections.
In a notice dated May 21, 2026, Acting Executive Director Joshua Kawino said the meeting will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel in Kisumu County, starting at 8:30 am. Members have been urged to keep time.
The forum will bring together party hopefuls interested in contesting elective positions under the ODM banner, including those eyeing county assembly, parliamentary, senatorial and gubernatorial seats across the four counties.

“Aspirants for various elective positions in the 2027 General Election from Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya and Migori counties are invited to attend,” the party said in the notice.
According to ODM, the consultative meeting forms part of its early organisational groundwork for the 2027 election cycle, aimed at engaging prospective candidates on its electoral roadmap and internal nomination processes as political activity begins to gather momentum nationwide.

The four counties—Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori—remain key ODM strongholds, and the meeting is expected to attract strong interest as aspirants position themselves for party nominations in what is likely to be a highly competitive race.

The consultative forum comes shortly after ODM formally opened applications for members seeking the party’s nomination in the 2027 contest, including those eyeing the party’s presidential flagbearer ticket.
The party said the application process is being conducted through its online platform, with members also encouraged to verify their registration details using a USSD code ahead of nominations.
ODM noted that the exercise is guided by its constitution and internal nomination rules, with the application window set to run until June 30, 2026.
The party further urged members and aspirants to remain in contact with the National Elections Coordinating Committee for clarification on nomination procedures and requirements.
