Kamau thanked the people of Ol Kalou for entrusting him with the mandate to represent them in the National Assembly, describing his election as a solemn responsibility to serve with integrity, humility and dedication.

Ol Kalou MP-elect Sammy Waweru Kamau has vowed to unite the constituency and serve all residents after clinching victory in the July 17 parliamentary by-election.

Speaking after receiving his certificate of election on Friday, Kamau thanked the people of Ol Kalou for entrusting him with the mandate to represent them in the National Assembly, describing his election as a solemn responsibility to serve with integrity, humility and dedication.

Kamau attributed his victory to God's grace and expressed gratitude to his family, supporters, campaign team and the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) officials for standing by him throughout the campaign.

"I wish to thank God for this moment because without Him, I wouldn't be standing here. I am here because God made it possible for me to become a Member of Parliament against all odds," he said.

The MP-elect also thanked former Deputy President and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, DCP Secretary General Senator John Methu, Wanjiku Muhia and other party leaders for their support during the campaign.

He pledged to serve all residents equally, regardless of their political affiliation, saying the election period was over and the focus should now shift to transforming the constituency.

"The campaigns are over; now the work of transforming Ol Kalou begins," Kamau said.

His victory has since attracted congratulatory messages from leaders across the political divide, with Gachagua hailing the outcome as a historic milestone after DCP secured its first seat in the National Assembly.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki congratulated Kamau and urged him to unite the people of Ol Kalou and serve every resident without discrimination. He also commended UDA candidate Samuel Muchina Nyagah for conducting what he described as a mature, issue-based campaign.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna also congratulated the MP-elect, with Sifuna praising the people of Ol Kalou for remaining steadfast despite what he alleged were attempts at bribery, intimidation and violence during the campaigns.
