Kenya Police FC part ways with coach as managerial shake-ups continue
The club said Ndayiragije’s exit was amicable, citing his desire to “pursue greener pastures and newer challenges” following the team’s early exit from the CAF Champions League.
Reigning FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police FC is the latest club to part ways with its head coach.
On Wednesday, the club confirmed it had mutually agreed to separate from Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije, marking the fourth coaching departure in just two months of league action.

The season’s first casualty came at Bandari FC, where Ken Odhiambo was dismissed after only two matches. Newly promoted APS Bomet followed suit, relieving Michael Nam of his duties after a poor run of form. Ulinzi Stars then parted ways with Dunstan Nyaundo following consecutive defeats.
In an official statement, the club said Ndayiragije’s exit was amicable, citing his desire to “pursue greener pastures and newer challenges” following the team’s early exit from the CAF Champions League.
“Kenya Police FC wishes to announce to the general public that, effective October 29, 2025, it has mutually parted ways with Head Coach Etienne Ndayiragije,” the statement read. “Ndayiragije has a special place in Kenya Police FC history. The Board and Executive wish him the very best as he pursues bigger challenges within newer coaching frontiers.”
Ndayiragije’s coaching career has included high-profile appointments and brief stints.
He previously managed Tanzania’s national team until February 2021, then took charge of Burundi’s national side in January 2023 before being dismissed in October 2024. A month later, he joined Kenya Police FC and led the club to its first-ever league title.
However, following the team’s elimination in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, pressure mounted within the club hierarchy.
His departure leaves the law enforcers without a substantive head coach as they turn their focus to defending their domestic crown.
In the interim, Kenya Police Bullets head coach David Bujego has taken charge of first-team training while the club searches for Ndayiragije’s successor.
