Fans to pay Sh10,000 for VVIP tickets during Kenya-Gabon FIFA World Cup qualifier clash

Fans to pay Sh10,000 for VVIP tickets during Kenya-Gabon FIFA World Cup qualifier clash

Parking at the stadium will cost Sh300 and only those who will have bought their tickets in advance will be allowed to park inside the stadium.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has set a premium price for VVIP tickets for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier clash between Kenya and Gabon, which is scheduled to be played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

The match, which will kick-off at 4 pm, will be the first competitive match that Kenya is playing at home since defeating Rwanda 2-1 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match played at Nyayo on November 15, 2021.

Fans wishing to sit in the VVIP area will have to pay Sh10 000, a price which FKF CEO Harold Ndege says will guarantee them access to secure parking, half-time refreshments and exclusive networking opportunities.

Ndege was speaking at Kandanda House on Wednesday where he also stated that FKF will make 22,900 tickets available for sale, including the VVIP tickets.

“There will be 21,000 tickets for the terraces which will go for Sh300 while VIP tickets will be sold at Sh1,000. No tickets will be sold beyond Saturday,” Ndege said.

Tickets will be sold online, with Ndege advising fans to only buy them from tikiti.co.ke or using the USSD code *519*55#.

“To avoid confrontations and disappointments at the gate, fans should make sure that they buy tickets only from those platforms,” Ndege said.

Ndege added that FKF is digitising its ticketing processes and event management operations as the federation is aiming to emulate the best global practices for the management of football events.

“The measures we are announcing are aimed at going beyond showing the country’s preparedness to host CHAN 2025 and AFCON 2027. We want to keep up with the modern way of doing things as this federation promised a fresh start,” Ndege said.

Other measures announced by Ndege regarding ticketing will fans with vehicles having to buy parking tickets in advance using the same online platforms set up for selling tickets.

Parking at the stadium will cost Sh300 and only those who will have bought their tickets in advance will be allowed to park inside the stadium.

However, Ndege advised fans to seek alternative parking spaces outside the venue to decongest the stadium.

To assist with crowd control and management, Ndege said that FKF will work with the National Youth Service who will serve as stewards alongside other security personnel tasked with providing inside and outside of the stadium.

He advised fans to arrive early, stating that gates will open at 11 am.

“Fans can enjoy music and entertainment as they wait for kick-off,” he said.
