The Kenyan speedster arrives in Paris as the current leader of the Diamond Race standings with 16 points.

FROM PARIS
Kenya's sprint sensation Ferdinand Omanyala and rising steeplechase star Edmund Serem will lead a formidable Kenyan team at Sunday’s Paris Diamond League at Stade Sébastien Charléty as the country seeks more success on the prestigious Wanda Diamond League circuit.
Omanyala, who has been in outstanding form this season, headlines the 10-man Kenyan squad in the men's 100 metres, where he will face a world-class field featuring South Africa's Akani Simbine, Great Britain's Jeremiah Azu, Canada's Andre De Grasse, Italy's Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs, Americans Jordan Anthony, Noah Lyles and Trayvon Bromell.
The Kenyan speedster arrives in Paris as the current leader of the Diamond Race standings with 16 points, narrowly ahead of South Africa's Bayanda Walaza Leotlela, who has 15 points, while American Kenneth Bednarek sits third with 11 points.
A strong performance in the French capital would further strengthen Omanyala's bid for the Diamond League title.
Serem, meanwhile, will be among Kenya's leading hopes in the men's 3,000m steeplechase alongside Abraham Kibiwot and Wilberforce Chemiat Kones, who has been entered as the pace-maker.
The event is expected to provide another stern test against a quality field that includes Ethiopia's Hailemariyam Amare, Abrham Sime, Samuel Firewu and Gemechu Godana, as well as Morocco's Mohamed Tindouft.
Kenya will also be strongly represented in the men's 5,000 metres with Frankline Kibet, Cornelius Kemboi, Mathew Kipchumba Kipsang and Jacob Krop all lining up against a competitive field featuring Ethiopia's Khairi Bejiga, Getnet Wale, Kuma Girma, Lamecha Girma and Addisu Yihune, Eritrea's Saymon Amaniel and Germany's Florian Bremm.
Another exciting Kenyan prospect, Reynold Cheruiyot, will compete in the men's 1,500 metres as he continues to establish himself among the world's elite middle-distance runners.
Other African athletes expected to make a significant impact across several events include Zambia's Muzala Samukonga, Botswana's Collen Kebinatshipi and South Africa's Zakithi Nene, who will contest the men's 400 metres, with Nene arriving as the leader of the Diamond Race standings.
Botswana's Oratile Nowe will feature in the men's 800 metres, while the women's 1,500 metres includes Morocco's Soukaina Hajji and Ethiopia's Haregeweyni Kalayu, Aster Areri and Freweyni Hailu.
