Kenyans should be your first and only priority, Ruto tells Cabinet

The Head of State was also explicit about the expectations of the Kenyan people.
President William Ruto on Thursday set the stage for a new era in Kenya's governance with his newly reconstituted Cabinet.
Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony for 19 Cabinet Secretaries, Ruto urged the CSs to always put Kenyans first as their only priority.

"I urge you, therefore, to go forth and from this day, focus on delivery, and dedicate your time and effort to the implementation of the various strategies, programmes, and projects that the nation's transformation demands," Ruto said.
He outlined the roles they must fulfill, urging them to be exemplary leaders.
"As champions of the nation's development agenda, you will be team players, servant leaders, faithful trustees, effective stewards of the people's interests, and dependable custodians of their resources," Ruto said
The Head of State was also explicit about the expectations of the Kenyan people.
"The people of Kenya have made their expectations known in bold terms; they have also made their intolerance for failure, inefficiency, corruption, and ineptitude equally clear," he said.
The President expressed self-confidence in his team, noting that he has high expectations.
"I am confident that each one of you has what it takes to deliver on your mandates and to satisfy the people's expectations. Henceforth, the terms of our contract with the people will remain in sharp focus, and we have no choice but to keep our part of it," he stated.
Ruto assured the Cabinet of his full support in their efforts to drive the country's transformation agenda.
"I give you my assurance of my full support in discharging your mandates, and in executing a reimagined and catalysed transformation agenda," he affirmed.
The President added that they have also made their intolerance for failure, inefficiency, corruption, and ineptitude equally clear.
"As champions of the nation's development agenda, you will be team players, servant leaders, faithful trustees, effective stewards of the people's interests, and dependable custodians of their resources," Ruto said.
In addition, Ruto called for unity and integrity in their collective efforts.
"Let us therefore work together in doing the right thing, and we shall be assured of success," he concluded.
