Former Harambee Stars midfielder Osborne Monday has joined Nairobi United's technical bench as assistant coach, becoming the latest addition to the club's ambitious project ahead of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season.
Monday arrives at Nairobi United after a brief return to Shabana FC, where he had been appointed first assistant coach following his departure from Murang'a Seal. His move sees him switch from a Shabana side that finished fifth with 52 points to a Nairobi United team that ended its debut top-flight campaign one place higher in fourth with 53 points.
The former Kenyan international is expected to play a key role in the club's revamped technical bench as Nairobi United seeks to build on an impressive first season in the FKF Premier League.
Known for his tactical intelligence and commitment to attractive, possession-based football, Monday earned widespread praise during his time at Murang'a Seal, where he helped establish a competitive side despite operating with limited resources.
His coaching philosophy and ability to develop players made him one of the most highly regarded young coaches in the local league.

His appointment comes as Nairobi United continue to strengthen both on and off the pitch. The club has already secured the services of experienced Belgian tactician Patrick Aussems, who is expected to lead the technical bench. Aussems boasts an extensive coaching résumé that includes spells with AFC Leopards and Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
For Monday, the move represents another significant step in a coaching career that has continued to gather momentum since he retired from playing. As a footballer, he enjoyed a distinguished career featuring for Tusker FC, Mathare United, Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers and Kakamega Homeboyz, while also earning 27 caps for Harambee Stars.
His return to Shabana earlier this month had been viewed as a chance to help stabilise the club following changes within the technical department.
