During a pass-out parade presided over by President William Ruto at the Forest Law Enforcement Academy on Wednesday, a Kenya Forest Ranger fainted while awaiting to take an oath of service. Prompt medical attention was provided, though the cause of the collapse remains unclear. The ranger, unidentified by name, was among over 2,600 recruits graduating from the academy, marking the largest cohort to ever graduate from the institution.

During the ceremony, the rangers showcased forest protection techniques acquired during their training, including martial arts, silent drill, songs, dances, and traditional parades. This exercise aimed to rejuvenate the ranger force.

Notably, President Ruto ordered the immediate dismissal of forest managers and 23 rangers during the event, alleging their involvement in corruption. This action underscores the government's commitment to addressing corruption within the forest management sector.
