Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have recovered a total of over Sh65 million from Nairobi City County’s Chief Officer in charge of Urban Development and Planning, Patrick Analo, following an early morning raid at his residence in Syokimau, Machakos County.
After the raid and recovery, the official was escorted to the EACC headquarters in Nairobi for questioning.
EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud said the operation yielded valuable evidence to support the ongoing investigations, including Sh51,300,000 and USD 113,000 (approximately Sh14,000,000), totalling Sh65,300,000, recovered at his residence in Syokimau within Machakos County and in his motor vehicle's boot.

“Other valuable evidence recovered includes: several title deeds, motor vehicle log books, laptops, land and motor vehicle sale agreements, and approval plans from Nairobi County Government, mobile phones, iPads, electronic accessories, and other documentary evidence,” added Abdi.
He further explained that the Commission is investigating allegations of corruption and economic crimes within the county.
Particularly, it is probing claims of conflict of interest, abuse of office, bribery, and possession of unexplained assets against Analo, who is alleged to have received millions of shillings in cash and M-Pesa deposits.
The suspect is also claimed to have accumulated immense assets that are disproportionate to his known legitimate sources of income.
“Upon conclusion of the investigations, the findings will inform appropriate action, including prosecution and the recovery of unexplained wealth and proceeds of corruption,” Abdi said.
