The DCI said the suspect was placed under medical observation after his arrest. Detectives reported that he has so far expelled 38 pellets containing suspected narcotic drugs weighing a total of 570 grams.

Anti-narcotics detectives have arrested two suspects believed to be linked to an international drug trafficking network after intercepting a suspected drug courier at Moi International Airport in Mombasa.
According to the police, the detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Police Unit conducted an intelligence-led operation leading to the arrest of suspected drug courier at the airport.
Police said he was intercepted at the airport while preparing to board a flight to Dubai, where investigators believe he was to deliver the suspected narcotics.
The DCI said the suspect was placed under medical observation after his arrest. Detectives reported that he has so far expelled 38 pellets containing suspected narcotic drugs weighing a total of 570 grams.
Police estimated the street value of the drugs at approximately Sh3.42 million.
The suspect remains under medical observation as investigators await the possible recovery of additional pellets before further legal processes commence.
Following the arrest of the alleged courier, detectives launched follow-up operations that resulted in the arrest of another suspect.
According to the security authorities, he is suspected of recruiting couriers for international drug trafficking networks and is believed to play a key role in the distribution of narcotics within Kenya.
The two arrests form part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to dismantle organised drug trafficking networks operating through the coast, which has long been identified as a key transit route for narcotics destined for regional and international markets.
Security agencies have in recent years intensified intelligence-led operations targeting traffickers and distributors involved in the illicit trade.
The Anti-Narcotics Police Unit, working alongside other security agencies, has conducted a series of interceptions at airports, ports and major highways, leading to the seizure of cocaine, heroin, cannabis and other illegal drugs.
Moi International Airport remains one of the facilities under close surveillance because of attempts by traffickers to use commercial flights to smuggle narcotics to destinations in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Authorities have increasingly relied on intelligence gathering, passenger profiling and surveillance to detect suspected drug couriers.
Police said investigations into the syndicate are continuing and have not ruled out further arrests as detectives seek to identify other individuals who may be linked to the alleged trafficking network.
