Election officials are verifying and consolidating polling station results at constituency centres before forwarding them for the national tally and final declaration.

Ethiopia has begun tallying votes at the constituency level after completing vote counting and publicly displaying results at polling stations across the country, the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced.
NEBE Chairperson Melatwork Hailu said the election process has now entered a crucial stage where results from individual polling stations are being collected, verified and combined at constituency centres before being forwarded for the national tally.
She said vote counting has been completed at all polling stations, including those that experienced delays due to logistical challenges. The results have since been posted at polling stations to allow the public to review them and promote transparency.

According to NEBE, result forms from polling stations are now being transferred to constituency centres, where officials are verifying the figures against the original records of votes cast. The exercise is aimed at ensuring accuracy before the results are approved and transmitted to the national level.
The electoral board said constituency-level results have already started arriving at the main election centre, signalling steady progress in the nationwide vote consolidation process.

NEBE also confirmed that training for polling station verifiers is underway. The verifiers will help ensure accuracy during the counting and aggregation process, strengthening oversight as results move through the various stages of collation.
