ODM opens applications for 2027 nominations, sets June 30 deadline for aspirants

The party has invited applications for the positions of President, Governor, Senator, Woman Representative, Member of Parliament (MP), and Member of the County Assembly (MCA).

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has set June 30, 2026, as the deadline for party members seeking nomination ahead of the 2027 General Elections, officially opening applications for aspirants eyeing various elective seats on its ticket.

In a notice issued under the authority of Article 61(1) of the ODM Constitution, read together with Rule 7(1) and Part VIII of the Party Elections and Nomination Rules, the National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) said it is now inviting interested party members to formally submit their applications to contest in the upcoming polls.

The party has invited applications for the positions of President, Governor, Senator, Woman Representative, Member of Parliament (MP), and Member of the County Assembly (MCA).

According to the notice, "applicants must be registered voters as a basic requirement before being considered for nomination".

Interested aspirants have been directed to submit their applications through the party’s online portal at aspirants.odm-ke.com and ensure that all submissions are completed on or before June 30, 2026.

ODM has also encouraged its members to verify their membership details by dialling 483036# as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and transparent nomination process.

To support the exercise, the party has asked members to seek clarification where necessary by reaching out to the National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) through email at [email protected] or by phone on 0757242495.

NECC Chairperson Emily Awita emphasised the importance of a credible and well-organised nomination process, urging aspirants and party members to remain engaged throughout the exercise.

Once the application window closes, successful applicants will proceed to party primaries, where ODM candidates will be selected to represent the party in the 2027 elections.

The party’s announcement comes as political activity across the country continues to build momentum ahead of the next general election cycle.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) had earlier also invited applications from individuals interested in contesting various elective seats in 2027, an exercise that attracted significant interest.

From that process, 12,235 aspirants reportedly expressed interest in vying for different positions on the ruling party’s ticket, highlighting the growing competition among political hopefuls.
