An Infotrak survey shows 37 per cent of Kenyans oppose the broad-based government, compared to 33 per cent who support it, with regional differences highlighting a deeply divided public.

Public opinion on the broad-based government remains split, with more Kenyans opposing it than supporting it.
A survey by Infotrak shows that 37 per cent of respondents oppose the arrangement, while 33 per cent support it. Another 27 per cent are neutral, and 3 per cent are undecided.
Support differs widely across regions. North Eastern has the highest approval at 48 per cent, followed by Rift Valley (45 per cent) and Nyanza (44 per cent). Western records 33 per cent support, while Coast and Eastern stand at 28 per cent and 27 per cent, respectively. Nairobi registers 24 per cent support, with Central recording the lowest at 19 per cent.
Among supporters, 35 per cent say the broad-based government has promoted peace, political stability and reduced tensions. Another 28 per cent believe it has strengthened national unity and cohesion, while 24 per cent credit it with improving development and service delivery.
Those opposed to the arrangement cite poor government performance and limited development as their biggest concern, with 40 per cent giving this reason. Another 19 per cent believe the arrangement mainly serves the personal interests of politicians, while 16 per cent say corruption remains a major problem.
Overall, the findings indicate that although some Kenyans see the broad-based government as a source of stability and unity, a larger proportion remains unconvinced that it has delivered meaningful improvements.
