The Nairobi senator wants the Senate to investigate the use of CRB records in recruitment, saying the practice may unfairly lock qualified Kenyans out of employment.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has sought a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare over the use of Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) records as a requirement for employment.
Speaking in the Senate, Sifuna called on the committee to explain why some employers use CRB records during recruitment, outline measures to protect job seekers from unfair discrimination, safeguard personal data and ensure equal access to employment opportunities.
